Who has Eflares on there appliance? What do you think of them ? Im certain there standard on all herts appliances and I think rescue pumps carry additional ones. I think there great and they provide that extra bit of saftey for the crews. Whats your oppion

Yeah we have something like that but not a stick there flatter and they come on once you have turned them up so your the light is facing upwards and when down they turn off.

Ive seen them used by the Americans on roads etc-Are they not a fire hazard with petrol and stuff splashed about?? Im no fire fighter so I dont know but common sense would say they have their limits??? :nod:

As far as im aware they dont spark so wont cause fuel to ignite they seem to be very good! the only bad point is kids like to steal them!

I was thinking you meant the ones they light and chuck in the road behind a fire truck to mark lane closure..Sorry-my mistake :roll: :oops:

Don't know if they are the same make, but apparently a couple of stations in Cambs have been evaluating a portable strobe set (10 in the set) once they are set in place the line can be set to strobe in sequence - like airfield approach lights!

We have them in Notts, they are very effective.

In Warks we have fold flat cones that light up via switch, these can be on constant or flash. They are really effective and as I say they fold flat so dont take up much space on the pump.
We carry 8 on each appliance.

I have 6 white light and 6 IR mainly for setting up emergency approach paths for helicopters at night. All are steady LED lights.
