All the crews would stay out all night if they could! The problem is the chief and his understudy's are afraid that we will fall down into a boghole and injure ourselves. In Holmatroman's case, I think its a very good idea to send them home at night. I wouldn't like to be pulling someone or a fellow FF out of one of those holes!!

How many shouts a year do you get at Durham?

It was under Milburngate Bridge in the city.

Not sure how many will have to look into it for you and find out but it isnt many

Yer, I heard Durham's retained crew are quite becasue of the 2 WT crews that are there. Do you know which DDFRS retained station is the busiest?

That is true you can't go leaving those wild fires unattended overnight . The fire usually lays down at night with cooler temps and less wind but usually picks up again in morning when winds increase and temps rise . :flame: :gutted:

Just got back from an RTA wash down outside the station, pump didnt even leave the bay. That was our 50th of the month, :smiley:

If it were a long protracted fire overnight we would have crews maintaining a defensive watching brief if it were unsafe, protecting property and such. Then continue on at sunrise.

Had 4 yesterday finishing up with 53 for the month , number 53 was part of a 12 pumper on undergrowth etc .

Now waiting for the first of this months :lol: :lol: :lol:
The next shout is just around the corner , but its a long time coming

god knows, bala or barmouth...or you!!! Tywyn were called there on standby in the morning. so they might have been off the run earlier on. shame, you could have come to tywyn on standby if they were.
